چکیده
Background: Aphasia is frequently observed in post-stroke patients, and this population usually presents attention impairment. Attention considered to play an important role the language recovery of patients with Post-Stroke (PSA). However, it no idea whether function correlates performance. In our study, we investigated association between PSA patients. Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed from September 2020 May 2021. A total 26 healthy people without neurological disorders were recruited study. And demographic, performance, performance recorded. The Battery Chinese (ABC) applied assess network tests used measure scores compared people. correlation analysis stepwise linear regression are explore relationship group. Results: (male/female = 21:5) enrolled mean ages 50.00 ± 9.01 years, 48.88 7.01, respectively. According ABC, 14 (53.85%) experienced Broca’s aphasia. accordance Network Test (ANT), there significant differences accuracy reaction time group control (all P<0.05). Orienting RT alerting inverse efficiency (IE) two groups. spearman revealed that executive associated aphasia severity grade, repetition correlated alerting, auditory comprehension orienting. after analysis, alone emerged as a predictor comprehension. Alerting IE orienting predictors repetition. Conclusions: results suggest among items (aphasia comprehension, repetition) related three specific functions: orienting, control. Disentangling mechanism deficits may provide supplement for rehabilitation strategies

The Relationship Between Memory, Type, and Severity of Aphasia With Confrontation Naming in Post-Stroke Patients With Chronic Aphasia
Objectives: The brain’s widespread neural functions lead to aphasia in which the patients experience difficulties in cognitive and language functions. Memory, type, and severity of aphasia are associated with language and the naming process. In the current study, we investigated the relationship between memory, type, and severity of aphasia using the confrontation naming test in post-stroke pat...
متن کاملAge-related changes and the attention network task: an examination of alerting, orienting, and executive function.
The effects of aging on alerting, orienting, and executive function were examined with the use of the Attention Network Task, which combines the Posner spatial cuing task and the Eriksen flanker task into a single procedure. We found that older adults showed significantly less alerting than young adults in response to a warning cue, although there were no age differences in orienting or executi...
متن کاملAn Event-Related Potential Investigation of the Effects of Age on Alerting, Orienting, and Executive Function
The present study compared young and older adults on behavioral and neural correlates of three attentional networks (alerting, orienting, and executive control). Nineteen young and 16 older neurologically-healthy adults completed the Attention Network Test (ANT) while behavioral data (reaction time and error rates) and 64-channel event-related potentials (ERPs) were acquired. Significant age-re...
متن کاملPresentation modality influences behavioral measures of alerting, orienting, and executive control.
The Attention Network Test (ANT) uses visual stimuli to separately assess the attentional skills of alerting (improved performance following a warning cue), spatial orienting (an additional benefit when the warning cue also cues target location), and executive control (impaired performance when a target stimulus contains conflicting information). This study contrasted performance on auditory an...
متن کاملThe canonical semantic network supports residual language function in chronic post-stroke aphasia.
Current theories of language recovery after stroke are limited by a reliance on small studies. Here, we aimed to test predictions of current theory and resolve inconsistencies regarding right hemispheric contributions to long-term recovery. We first defined the canonical semantic network in 43 healthy controls. Then, in a group of 43 patients with chronic post-stroke aphasia, we tested whether ...
